With a bow and arrow,

On that tenth day,

The Lord vanquished evil

For the good, made way

Let us emulate

Lord Rama today

Conquer our inner demons

For the good, make way

Its also strange

In its own way

That we celebrate the Father

Of the Nation today

Who could've thought

That Ahimsa and salt

Had the power to bring

An empire to a halt.
